After You Apply

 

Once you have applied for admission, it is your responsibility to monitor your application status and to ensure all required documents reach the Graduate School before the specified deadlines.

Please be advised that during peak processing periods, it may take the Graduate School 8 or more weeks to complete processing and send notification of the final admission decision. An applicant can facilitate processing by submitting the required official transcripts and other supporting documents immediately upon submission of the application. Should there be a need for you to communicate with us by email please include your 10 digit UT Arlington Student ID and allow to 3 to 5 working days for a response.

For your own protection, never use your Social Security number when communicating with us.

Instead, always use your 10 digit UT Arlington Student ID, which was sent to you via email approximately 7 to 10 days after receipt of your application in Graduate Studies.

Application Status

Within 5-10 business days of the Graduate School receiving your application, you will be sent an application receipt email which will contain your NetID. You will be kept informed of your application status via the email address you provided on the application. To check the status of your application, view your admissions decision, or view any missing documents.

  • Log in to MyMav.
  • Enter your NetID and password to enter the Student Center.

Notifications

Listed below are the types of admission processing notifications sent to applicants and the supplemental forms associated with these notifications.

Acknowledgement

Verification of receipt of your application form in the Graduate School. This notification is sent approximately 5 to 7 business days after receipt of your application form in the Graduate School. Notification will include program and semester or application, fee payment status, and UT Arlington ID Number. Please make note of your UT Arlington ID Number as you will need to refer to it when communicating with us.

UT Arlington NetID

Notification of your UT Arlington NetID and instructions on how to activate your NetID, This notification is sent approximately 5 to 7 business days after receipt of your application form in the Graduate School. Your NetID is used to access the MyMav Student Center where you can view your application status “To Do” list.

Application Review

Notification of transcripts or test scores required for the Graduate School to refer your application to the graduate advisor for a decision review. This notification is sent approximately 4 weeks after receipt of your application and fee payment. You will not be sent this notification if transcripts and test scores required to refer your file to the graduate advisor have been received.

Referred to the Graduate Advisor

Notification that your application has been sent to the graduate advisor of your intended program for a thorough review and recommendation. This notification is sent about 4 weeks after receipt of your application and fee payment.

Decision

Graduate Dean’s official notification of your admission decision. This notification is sent approximately 6 to 8 weeks after receipt of your application and fee payment.

 

Bacterial Meningitis Vaccination Requirements

Texas college students under 22 years old must be vaccinated against bacterial meningitis before they can enroll in classes (Section 51.9192 of the Texas Education Code.) If you have been admitted to UT Arlington, you are required to submit proof of your meningitis vaccination to Magnus Health SMR. The meningitis vaccination must be administered on or before the first day of classes of the term in which you are enrolling.

Transportation To Campus

Several forms of transportation from DFW and Love Field Airports to UT Arlington are available at either low or no cost to you:

Super Shuttle provides transportation to UT Arlington from DFW International Airport for about $22; Additional passengers pay about $6 extra and total costs may be split between passengers. You will need to call Supper Shuttle from the airport once you arrive to have one of their vans pick you up.

The Fine Arts Society of India (FSI) represents the Indian student community at UT Arlington and offers free transportation from the airport for newly arriving Indian students —along with temporary accommodations, if needed. FSI is a haven for multi-lingual, service-minded, fun-loving folks, and is one of the largest and most unique international student organizations on campus.

The UT Arlington Big Howdy Team offers free transportation from DFW and Love Field Airports to UT Arlington for incoming international students. The Big Howdy Team is a group of campus organizations, local churches and community volunteers who help new students transition to living in Arlington by helping them make connections within the community.

The Pakistani Student Association (PSA) focuses on providing a forum for Pakistani students to interact and engage with fellow UT Arlington students. PSA offers free transportation from the airport for newly arriving Pakistani students —along with temporary accommodations, if needed, and arranges orientations for new students to help become more acclimated with the UT Arlington campus and surrounding Arlington area. PSA strives for the preservation and presentation of Pakistan’s norms and values, and creating opportunities for new student to achieve academic excellence.

 

Arrange Your Transportation

Please note when comparing other forms of transportation that taxis are relatively expensive in the DFW area, and are not a common form of transportation.

Updating Your Application

If you have been given a Denied or Deferred decision and you want your application reconsidered, you must update/reactivate your application.

If you have been given an Admitted decision, but you want to change your semester of enrollment, program of admission or academic level of admission, you must update/reactivate your application.
